Art installation for the public spaces of The Social Hub Maastricht. The illustrated wash basins by Gino But Hoiting are inspired by the former Sphinx factory in which The Social Hub Maastricht is located. We designed this floor to ceiling bookcase to fit original Sphinx wash basins.
The design of the bookcase refers to the production method of bathroom furniture. The unbaked porcelain was stacked on a train trolley, which then was driven through an oven over the length of the building.
